Regina, Saskatchewan - HTC Purenergy today announced the signing of a Clean Energy Chair Agreement (“Agreement”). The parties to the Agreement are the University of Regina, HTC Purenergy and BTC BioEnergy Technologies Corp. (“BTC”) a newly acquired, wholly owned, subsidiary of HTC Purenergy.

The Agreement establishes a HTC Clean Energy Chair to be held by Dr Raphael Idem at the University of Regina.

In accordance with the terms of the Agreement, HTC Purenergy and BTC will provide support to the University of Regina for the HTC Clean Energy Chair for a period of two years, effective May 31, 2006, with the option to renew the Agreement for an additional two years.

The HTC Clean Energy Chair, Dr Idem and his experienced team of product development engineers, located at the Greenhouse Gas Technology Centre at the University of Regina, will primarily be involved in product development activities for energy production from pre-distilled ethanol and glycerol, a byproduct of biodiesel production. Dr Idem will supervise the continuation of work on the optimization and integration of hydrogen production by the CO2 reforming of natural gas and the water gas shift reaction, as initiated under the Collaborative Research Agreement between the HTC Purenergy and the University of Regina, effective May 30, 2003.
