Regina, Saskatchewan - HTC Purenergy (“HTC”)
CNBC European Business has published its list of the “top 50” Low Carbon Pioneers in a recent article titled “Cut Carbon, Make Money”. This article recognized companies on the cutting edge of this sector. The report includes a comprehensive survey of the entrepreneurs who are making this emerging market happen.
In the article, Lars Josefsson from Vattenfall Group (Europe’s fourth largest utility out of Stockholm Sweden) is quoted as saying “ Given the world’s continuing addiction to coal, whoever leads the way in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology is set to be honoured by the environmental lobby and investors alike”
Vattenfall and HTC Purenergy are the only two companies featured in the article that are actively developing and commercializing CCS technologies. Other companies featured in the top 50 are primarily carbon finance funds and alternative energy firms such as wind, solar, bio-fuels, and other renewable energy utilities. HTC is one of the very few companies in the world that has a complete carbon management product offering including: CO2 capture/storage, CO2 enhanced oil recovery, CO2 risk assessment/audit.
Lionel Kambeitz, Chairman and CEO of HTC commented “ When we consider how advanced the Europeans are in the new carbon economy, and the initiatives they have shown in carbon credit trading, finance, wind, solar and carbon reduction products, we are honoured to be recognized as the only Canadian Company featured in the CNBC’s top 50 list.”
