New York Governor George Pataki highlights CO2 capture and storage (CCS) as key to climate change and energy independence in the United States

Ernie Eves, former Premier of Ontario and Executive Chairman of Jacob & Company Securities hosted the conference. The former Governor of New York, George Pataki delivered the keynote address on the opportunities presented by the pursuit of clean and renewable power technologies. Always a powerful advocate of environmental solutions to address the climate change challenge, Governor Pataki ended his remarks with the recognition that CO2 Capture and Storage (CCS) was going to play a new and important role in America’s fight to combat carbon emissions, while at the same time providing support for the increased production of oil through enhanced oil recovery processes (EOR).
Lionel Kambeitz, CEO of HTC Purenergy concluded the event with a presentation over viewing the global demand for the commercial deployment of CO2 Capture Systems on coal and gas fired power plants, including descriptions of active CCS projects in Norway, Australia, United States and Canada.
