HTC PURENERGY RECEIVES COVETED “TECHNOLOGY GREEN 15” AWARD

October 1, 2009 - Regina, Saskatchewan – HTC Purenergy Inc. (“HTC”) (TSX-V:HTC), Canada’s National Champion of Carbon Capture and Storage (“CCS”) technology,  is a winner of the prestigious Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award, an award created to showcase 15 Canadian companies that are leading the way to create major breakthroughs in the field of green technology.

“The Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award recognizes those Canadian companies that offer solutions to global environmental challenges by creating intellectual property and technology that reduce society’s environmental impact,” said John Ruffolo, National Leader, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group, Deloitte.

“Companies such as HTC Purenergy are creating technology solutions that have a significant environmental impact and demonstrate a compelling return on investment, despite being in a recession. In doing so, they are helping position Canada as a global leader in the development of commercially-viable green technology.”

HTC's CEO Lionel Kambeitz, credits HTC’s early success to its collaborative technology development agreements with the University of Regina, and the opportunity to recruit  MSc and PhD students that have been trained in the many aspects of CO2 management by the University of Regina.  Kambeitz said, “The ability to succeed in the development of a globally recognized carbon management brand is the result of the foundation work and intellectual capital developed at the University of Regina, which forms the cornerstone of our technology offering and human resource capital.”
