HTC's flue gas capture technology is specifically designed for large-scale capture of CO2 from industrial flue gas, in particular from fossil fuel power stations. Based on the specific requirements of the customer, a designer solvent can be produced that reduces the cost of capture.

HTC Designer Solvents have been engineered to include:

  • Capacity Enhancers.
  • Rate Promoters.
  • Corrosion Inhibitors.
  • Solvent Stabilizer.
  • Flexibility in design & operation.
  • Optimum utilization of the resources.
  • Fuel Savings.

  Solvent Efficiency Chart

The chart above shows the efficiency of HTC's Designer Solvents as compared to 5M MEA solvent. An efficient solvent can substantially reduce both the capital and operating costs of a CO2 Capture system.

For example, steam consumption is approximately 50% less and total solvent losses is up to 10 times less. This will translate into substantial savings to the customer in operating the plant as well as it's more efficient design.

To ensure the optimal performance of the capture system, HTC offers a regular diagnostic of the plant's solvents. This analysis is completed at the International Test Centre for CO2 Capture (ITC) and provides the customer preventative maintenance on potential problems that may develop at the plant (Corrosion, incorrect plant operation, degradation of solvents etc.)
